Japan beat Fijiana 24-15

The Vodafone Fijiana XVs side went down to Japan 24-15 in their first test match tonight at the HFC Bank Stadium.

Fiji got off the block with a unconverted try to Nunia Daunimoala to put them in the lead.

Japan replied with a converted try to Otoka Yosimura to put them in the lead.

Fiji committed a lot of mistakes and flanker Sulita Waisea was shown the yellow card for a high tackle.

Fiji's Luisa Tisolo converted a penalty to close the gap to 10-8 at half time.

Fiji continued to commit mistakes in the second half which saw centre Atelaite Buna in the sin bin for a high tackle.

Moe Tsukui and Sakurako Hatada scored another two tries for Japan to put them ahead.

The Fijiana continued on their attack but the Japanese defence stood tall at the end.

The Fijiana will take on Japan in their second test match at 6pm Thursday at Churchill Park, Lautoka.
