One of the four Asians sentenced yesterday for human trafficking was also involved in one of the world’s largest drug busts.
According to stuff.co, Jason Zhong, 40, was imprisoned in 2004 over a F$1 billion crystal methamphetamine clandestine lab found in Suva.
Stuff.co reported in what was termed Operation Outrigger, Fiji, New Zealand and Australian police monitored a lab at Laucala Beach over 14 months before moving in to discover about a tonne of meth.
Meanwhile, Jason Zhong was handed the highest sentence of 11 years 9 months by Chief Justice Paul Madigan.
