Swire Shipping Fijian Drua coach Glen Jackson has revealed that he has been in talks with Fiji Airways Men’s National 7s coach Osea Kolinisau in terms of getting players from the 7s program to transition into the Drua program and vice versa.
Jackson says he thinks it is important that they help each other in terms of what they are after as coaches.
He says the Drua are very lucky to get former Fiji 7s rep Ponipate Logamimasi from the 7s program and he has been outstanding in transition with the Fiji Water Flying Fijians, and also with the Drua.
Jackson further says he has also been in talks with Sportsworld Fiji Under 20 coach Senirusi Seruvakula about the under 20 players joining the Fijian Drua setup.
He says the Under 20 is an important pathway for the Drua.
Jackson says it is an exciting time for Fijian rugby as we are now seeing young kids come out of high school who have been doing weights, who want to be professional rugby players and are catching up.
He says it is important that they work together as coaches and keep Fijian rugby as high as they can possibly in the world and in terms of what could happen in the future.
Meanwhile, the Drua are gearing up for their first game of the 2025 Shop N Save Super Rugby Pacific season where they will host the Brumbies at 3.35pm this Saturday at the HFC Bank Stadium in Suva.
