Italy has won the men’s 4x100-metres relay to give Marcell Jacobs his second gold medal at Tokyo 2020.
Jacobs who won the men’s 100-metres was part of the team that won the sprint relay.
The Italians edged Britain by 0.01 and Canada took bronze.
It was Italy’s first Olympic medal in the relay since a bronze at the 1948 London Olympics.
It was a new national record for Italy who won the one-lap relay sprint in 37.50 seconds.
The world champion United States men's 4x100-metres relay team failed to advance as one of eight teams to the final out of the preliminary heats.
