Italy has faced another set back to their must-win clash against the All Blacks this Saturday as two of their props have been given a three-match ban for their joint tip-tackle on South African Duane Vermeulen.

Prop Andrea Lovotti received a red card on the field for picking Vermeulen up and dumping him on his head.

Replacement prop Nicola Quaglio escaped an on-field sanction but was later cited for his part in the same tackle.

He admitted it was an act of foul play, but argued it did not warrant a red card.

Italy will face the All Blacks at 4.45pm this Saturday.
