Chiefs coach Clayton McMillan says it would take a miracle for them to play in the final of the Super Rugby Trans-Tasman competition after a disappointing outing against the Reds last weekend.
Chiefs lost to the Reds 40-34 on Saturday night.
They are the first Kiwi Super Rugby team to lose to their Australian counterpart.
The Chiefs will host the Rebels at 3.35pm Sunday.
In other matches, the Crusaders will take on the Western Force at 7.05pm Friday, the Reds will face the Blues at 9.45pm Friday, the Highlanders will play the Waratahs at 7.05pm Saturday and the Brumbies will meet the Hurricanes at 9.45pm Saturday.
