As the Fiji Water Flying Fijians get ready to play Portugal in their 2023 Rugby World Cup do-or-die clash tomorrow, head coach Simon Raiwalui has made it clear that they are not looking past their opponent.
Raiwalui says they are worried about Portugal and they are showing Portugal all the respect with their preparation.
He further says they understand it is going to be a tough match as Portugal has been really playing well but the boys are looking forward to the game.
The Flying Fijians’ fate at this year’s RWC lies in this match and they will only need 1 point from this game to progress through to the quarter finals again after a lapse of 16 years.
Fiji last played in a RWC quarter final back in 2007 after defeating Wales 38-34 in their final pool match to finish as pool runners-up.
The Flying Fijians played the Springboks in the quarter final and lost 37-20.
Fiji will take on Portugal at 7am tomorrow in Toulouse.
Meanwhile, in other matches played, Ireland beat Scotland 36-14, Wales defeated Georgia 43-19, England narrowly beat Samoa 18-17, France demolished Italy 60-7 and the All Blacks thrashed Uruguay 73-0.
