Fijian-born winger Emoni Narawa says he was just emotional when he received the confirmation from All Blacks coach Ian Foster that he had made the squad.
Narawa says what made it even more special was that he got to share that moment with his partner, Danielle.
The 24-year-old says he was on the same flight back from Dunedin with Foster who pulled him aside at the baggage claim to inform him that he had made the cut.
He says he was lost for words actually as it is a dream come true.
The Chiefs winger debuted in the All Blacks 41-12 win against Argentina in the Rugby Championship also managing to get his name on the score sheet.
He was not featured in the last couple of games as he was nursing a back injury, finally attending a team training session last week.
The All Blacks will face France on September 9th in the opening game of the Rugby World Cup 2023.
