Hundreds of members of the Republic of Fiji Military Force gathered today at the RFMF Chapel at Queens Elizabeth Barracks to witness the inaugural church service of the Commander RFMF, Rear Admiral Viliame Naupoto.
While delivering his speech at the service, Naupoto said it is a humble experience and quite symbolic to be bestowed the position of the commander RFMF.
Naupoto said he will do his best and fulfill the responsibility that he has been assigned to.
Meanwhile, Major (Reverend) Ilaitia Tuwere who led the service reminded Naupoto to lead by example and to make a difference in the RFMF.
Admiral Naupoto was also blessed at the service in the presence of the Prime Minister Voreqe Bainimarama, Speaker of Parliament Doctor Jiko Luveni, government ministers, Police Commissioner, Brigadier General Sitiveni Qiliho and other invited guests.
The Fijian traditional ceremony for the Inauguration of the Commander will continue tomorrow at the Queen Elizabeth Barracks.
