The China Railway sponsored Island Breeze Rugby Plus Clinics are back after a two-year lapse where it had to be put on hold due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
This year’s clinics will be hosted in Vatukalo Village, Ovalau from the 10th till the 12th of January and in Tacilevu Village Cakaudrove from the 16th till the 20th January 2023.
The clinics will be hosting 100 participants, young men and women from the two villages and those from surrounding communities.
Island Breeze Director Waqa Baravilala believes that they can use sport as a vehicle to influence the youths to be better individuals in their families, their mataqali, their vanua and ultimately be great citizens of our beloved nation, contributing positively to its growth.
They have drafted former Manu Samoa test hooker Onèhunga Mata'uiau to be here in Fiji to give back to rugby what he has learned over the years.
Mata'uiau added mindset is a powerful thing.
A few of the names that have come out of the Rugby Plus Clinics include Joseva Tamani (Drua), Seru Uru (Reds), Kitione Ratu (Drua), and Sefa Naivalu (Wallabies).
