Ireland has rounded up their 2023 Rugby World Cup pool games on a high after beating Scotland 36-14 to qualify for the quarter finals as the top team from pool B and set up a meeting with the All Blacks next weekend.

This is Ireland’s 17th consecutive win for the world number 1 team as they dismantled the Scottish side with a display of brilliant rugby.

The loss has also sent Scotland home as Sooth Africa qualifies as the second-placed team from the pool.

Ireland led 26-0 at halftime after a strong start.

Both teams provided a bit of entertainment for the crowd with a few pushing and shoving that went on for more than two minutes resulting in a yellow card to replacement back Ollie Smith early in the second half.

Scotland managed to improve their discipline on their defence but they could not stop the Irish from scoring a further 10 points in the second spell with Scotland replying with 2 converted tries for the final score.

In other matches played, this morning, Wales defeated Georgia 43-19, England narrowly beat Samoa 18-17, RWC host France finished top of pool A after demolishing Italy 60-7 and the All Blacks thrashed Uruguay 73-0.

Meanwhile, the Flying Fijians will play Georgia at 7am tomorrow in Toulouse in their final pool match in which they only need 1 point from to qualify for the quarter finals.
