The investigation regarding the complaint against the Commissioner of Police, Ben Groenewald has been completed.
The case file was submitted to the Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions this morning.
Police say no further comments will be made until the file is returned from the DPP’s office.
The investigation relates to a complaint against the Commissioner on how the accident case at Edinburgh Drive last Friday night was handled.
Meanwhile the South African High Commission has reported the incident regarding the involvement of a South African diplomat in the fatal accident to the Department of International Relations and Cooperation in Pretoria for consideration.
The High Commission says after receiving guidance from Pretoria, they will engage with relevant stakeholders in Suva.
Groenewald has confirmed that the fatal accident at Edinburgh Drive, involved a 59-year-old diplomat from the office of the South African High Commission.
26-year-old Nadera man, Ashneel Singh died in the accident after the diplomat’s vehicle had a head-on-collision with his vehicle.
Fijivillage.com has questioned the High Commission on how they will approach this issue, knowing that a man died in the accident and the South African diplomat was under the influence of alcohol.
