A team led by New Zealand investigator, Andrew McGregor to look into the Cessna 172 crash is still trying to get to the wreckage site at the Delaikoro Mountain in Vanua Levu.
The team of investigators who are being assisted by the Army, Police Force, Fire Services and Dogoru villagers are finding it difficult to proceed to the site to recover the wreckage as heavy rain persists.
McGregor says that the investigation team is continuing with the recovery of the wreckage.
He adds that depending on the location of the wreckage, it will be recovered by a combination of human manpower and helicopter airlifting.
McGregor says that the weather has not been good and is hampering the recovery of the wreckage.
He says that the terrain is also very steep and mountainous and accessibility is not straightforward.
The cause of the crash will only be determined once the wreck has been retrieved and full investigations are completed.
