Police have confirmed that the two people who are being questioned in relation to the alleged murder of two Indian nationals were working for the scrapped metal company run by the deceased.

Assistant spokesperson Sergeant Suliano Tevita said the post mortem conducted revealed that both had severe neck wounds.

The bodies of 31 year old Raja Manikam Venkatachalam and 40 year old Ram Krishnan Amritalingham were then packed in a suitcase and left in a pit toilet in Benai, Ba.

The two suspects aged 22 and 26 years old have been brought to the CID headquarters in Suva and are been interrogated.

The investigation is led by Regional Crime Officer Western SP Luke Rawalai.

A report of them missing was lodged on 18th December last year at the Nakasi Police Station by one of their friends residing in Davuilevu Housing.

They were reported missing since 14th of December 2009 and were last seen leaving for the Western Division.

Meanwhile, police are looking for unknown people who broke into 14 cars parked at the Carpenters Motors car yard in Walu Bay on Saturday night.

Assistant spokesperson Sergeant Suliano Tevita said the discovery was made yesterday.

Thieves stole car stereos, speakers and other items.

Police are calling for more information and has warned members of the public to refrain from buying stolen items as it is a serious offence adding that those found doing so will be dealt with severely.

Also, police have questioned and released two people for allegedly breaching the Public Emergency Regulation.

Tevita said the two allegedly organized a meeting at a hotel in Suva yesterday where more than 30 people gathered.

It is alleged that the public gathering took place without a permit as required under the Public Emergency Regulation.

According to police, the two will be taken in again for questioning if the need arises.
