Discussions have been held between the Fiji Police Force and Interpol to put into place a state of the art passport control system.
This was confirmed by Secretary General Interpol Ronald Noble during a welcoming ceremony in his first ever visits to Fiji.
Noble said the passport control system will help the Fiji Police Force in protecting the country from cyber related crimes.
Noble added the system also includes taking finger prints and DNA profiles of individuals coming into the country.
When asked on Fiji's role in helping Interpol in the South Pacific this is what he has to say.
Noble will be in the country for two days to commemorate the 41st year anniversary of Fiji's involvement with Interpol.
