Having a spirit of resilience and moving forward was the focus of the Fiji Day celebration at International School Suva today.
School Principal Doctor Anna Marsden says the 2016 Fiji Day celebration will be remembered for Cyclone Winston affecting the country in February and more so the resilience of the Fijian people to rebuild the country, move forward and to win gold in Rio.
She says one thing that they are proud of is that everyone at the school feels that they are a bit Fijian, even though they know that they are from different parts of the world.
Doctor Marsden that it took 3 weeks for the students to put together today’s Fiji Day celebration, which was organised solely by the students with the support of parents and teachers.
The Fiji Day assembly was hosted by the Kindergarten and Year 6 students, with performances from the school band, Year 1 and year 12 students.
