Tuesday 11/06/2019

The inquiry into the case of Fabiano Dakai who is charged with murder will take place on the 8th of next month.

This is in regards to the psychiatric evaluation report that has found that Dakai who allegedly killed a security officer in Navua in February this year is not fit to participate in court proceedings.

The conclusion of the report says Dakai was mentally unwell at the time the alleged offence was committed.

Judge Justice Daniel Goundar has given state 14 days to file formal information.

State informed the court that the doctor who evaluated Dakai has migrated overseas.

Defence lawyer Namrata Mishra informed court that Dakai is getting therapy at the St. Giles Hospital but she cannot confirm whether it is just oral therapy or medication is involved.

Dakai has been remanded in custody.
