In streamlining the election management process and ensuring transparency and fairness in electoral procedures, the Fijian Elections Office has launched the School Election Toolkit Pilot programme at the Rishikul Sanatan College.

1050 students of Rishikul College, starting from year 9 to year 13 used the new tool which includes all voting material, as they elect their new Student Council President today.

While introducing the tool, Mataiciwa says this programme will be piloted in 10 schools across the Central Division, and she is delighted to kick-start the programme.

Mataiciwa also sends her acknowledgement to the Ministry of Education, the heads of the 10 schools and the training and development unit at FEO for making the SET Pilot Programme possible.

She adds that although this is accessible to the public, Fijian voters are reassured that ballot papers used in the General Election have special security features and cannot be duplicated.
