Inmates get new musical instruments form Indian High Commission

The Inmates from the Medium Correction Centre in Naboro received new musical instruments from the Indian High Commission today that include Instruments used by the Indo Fijian community including religious books as well.

The Director of the Commission's Indian Cultural Centre, Dr Kamal Kishor Mishra said that he hoped it would be well utilized by the inmates.

He said Fiji is a wonderful country made up of diverse cultures and culture is what identifies a person.

An inmate Mahendra Singh said that they were grateful that the Centre had approved their request, stemming from a lack of equipment during their recreation.

Singh said the donation would help mould their character and assured Dr Mishra that the equipment would be used well.
