Landowners in the Tamavua village can now rest easy as the initial planning work for the development of their land has begun.
This follows the development of i-Taukei land in the Tamavua village for the construction of 15 residential lots and 1 multi-unit residential lot.
Director of Scope Pacific Sanjesh Deo said the initial planning work has started and scoping assessment is expected to begin in the next few weeks.
He added that Scope Pacific has also been appointed to oversee and be the consultant for the project.
Deo said planning and engineering approval will take about 3-6 months.
Meanwhile, Town Planner Jacqueline Hughes said the one lot multi-unit residential development is being developed to allow for a strata type apartments.
Hughes said this is to allow land owners to be able to sell or lease out land individually.
She added that requirements for Engineering drawings are to be prepared and taken through a tender process where the contractor will be awarded.
Hughes said construction on the sight is expected to begin in the next 3-4 months.
Meanwhile she added that the construction will take about 6 months to accomplish.
