President of India Droupadi Murmu visited the Sri Subramaniya Swami Temple in Nadi this morning which will be her last official engagement in Fiji before departing for New Zealand later today.
Murmu was received by Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Finance, Biman Prasad, India’s High Commissioner to Fiji, PS Karthigeyan and Fiji’s High Commissioner to the Republic of India, Jagnnath Sami and accorded her to a puja ceremony.
The Fijian Government says the State visit by Murmu to Fiji underscores the importance India attaches to bilateral relations with Fiji and reflects a strong focus on the Act East Policy, which was announced by Prime Minister Narendra Modi 10 years ago at the 9th East Asia Summit in 2014.
