Prime Minister of India Narendra Modi has arrived in the country.
Modi arrived at the Nausori Airport at about 5.30 this morning and was greeted by Prime Minister Voreqe Bainimarama.
The Indian Prime Minister then inspected the guard of honour by the RFMF.
The RFMF band then played the Indian National Anthem.
Modi then introduced his delegation to the Fijian Prime Minister while Bainimarama also introduced Narendra Modi to his cabinet ministers and Fiji’s High Commissioner to India, Yogesh Karan.
At 9.30 this morning, Modi will be accorded are full traditional welcome ceremony to be performed by the people of Sorokoba, Ba.
Members of the public will not be allowed to shake hands with Modi unless prior arrangements have been made.
Then at 10.40am Bainimarama will meet Modi at his office for the signing of some agreements between the two countries.
At 11.30am, Modi and Bainimarama will address the Fijian parliament.
At 5pm today, Modi will visit the Fiji National Univesity.
This will be followed by the Pacific leaders meeting with the Indian Prime Minister at Grand Pacific Hotel.
