The Indian Government is committed to assisting Fiji’s Micro and Small Business Enterprise with US$5 million.
This was a pledge agreement by India’s Prime Minister Narendra Modi during his state visit to Fiji in November 2014.
The two governments signed a memorandum of agreement which to date facilitated the release of FJ$4.085 million.
The Indian High Commission yesterday presented an additional FJ$0.58 million to the Minister of Industry, Trade and Tourism Faiyaz Koya.
This brings the total financial support by the Indian Government to Fiji’s Micro and Small Business to a value of FJ$4.7 million.
The second tranche of assistance is expected to commence later this year.
