India edged past New Zealand with a four-wicket victory to claim the Champions Trophy in Dubai this morning.
India remained dominant throughout the tournament and made a strong start in pursuit of 252 runs, only to lose three wickets for 17 runs, including captain Rohit Sharma for 76 and Virat Kohli for just one.
They reached the target, scoring 254 runs for the loss of six wickets in 49 overs while New Zealand managed 251 runs for seven wickets in 50 overs.
The win confirms India's position as the world's premier white-ball side.
They were loudly supported by a partisan crowd, and fireworks erupted into the night sky as the players rushed onto the field at the final moment.
Indian captain Rohit Sharma was named Man of the Match while Rachin Ravindra of New Zealand received the Man of the Tournament award for scoring 263 runs in the tournament.
