India Captain Rohit Sharma's brilliant century sprinted India to an emphatic eight-wicket defeat over Afghanistan in the 2023 ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup early morning today in Delhi.
Sharma crunched sparkling 131 runs from 84 balls before India reached their target of 273 with 15 overs to spare while Virat Kohli made 55 runs from 56 balls.
Sharma says it is always special to score a hundred in a World Cup however he does not want to lose his focus as it is important to continue the winning streak.
Meanwhile, Hashmatullah Shahidi made 80 runs to put Afghanistan on course for a more challenging target however Jasprit Bumrah's 4-39 had them end on 272 runs over 8 wickets.
India has won both their games while this was the second defeat for Afghanistan.
