Principal of Pacific Theological College Reverend Upolu Luma Va’ai stressed the importance of informal education to be part of the curriculum in our educational system.
While speaking at the Vakatabu Conference at the Studio 6, Reverend Va’ai says achieving wisdom and its relationship in the community is a tool that can bring prosperity to our communities.
He says young children need to be taught about their culture and its values because it defines who they are.
Meanwhile, Doctor Sereima Naisilisili during her presentation on her research framework, including indigenous culture, and education for sustainable development, says our identity will link our relationship to our surroundings.
She says our lifestyle is regulated by the natural rhythm of our environment.
Doctor Naisilisili says we need to read the environment and its knowledge needs to be passed down to the young generation.
