The Fiji Men’s 7s team are looking at polishing their ball handling errors and contesting the ball in the air as coach Osea Kolinisau believes they have the players who can exploit that area of the game.
Kolinisau says he understands other teams will be trying to deny them possession because they know when Fiji has the ball in hand, they can do anything.
He says they are also working on their defence and ensuring the players play as a team and not as individuals.
The Fiji Men’s 7s team have settled in France in preparation for the Olympics and will be hoping to claim their third rugby 7s gold medal.
Fiji has won gold twice under the leadership of Ben Ryan in 2016 and Gareth Baber in 2021.
This year’s competition will be a milestone achievement for 7s superstar Jerry Tuwai, who will be playing his third Olympic Games and will also be vying for his third gold Olympic medal.
Fiji is in a tough pool with host France, USA and Uruguay.
The Men’s Olympic 7s competition will be held from the 25th to the 28th of this month.
