Supervisor of Elections, Mohammed Saneem says he is particularly disturbed about this madness and theatrics concerning the incident where parties like the National Federation Party and the Fiji Labour Party are asking why Saneem has not referred the matter regarding the FijiFirst banner at the Suva Civic Carpark to FICAC.

Although the NFP, FLP and The People’s Alliance have said that Saneem should have referred the matter to FICAC when it was established that the FijiFirst had put up a campaign banner on a non-designated building, Saneem stresses the matter is already with FICAC as it was taken to FICAC by the NFP and FLP.

Saneem also says People’s Alliance Deputy Leader, Manoa Kamikamica continues to repeat things that he does not understand.

He says when the matter is referred to FICAC, they will investigate and gather all the evidence and statements.

Saneem says FICAC is not the court, they are the prosecuting agency, which Kamikamica completely ignores, and the bandwagon of the media goes right on top of the trail.

He says before they prosecute a matter, FICAC will determine based on the evidence, the law and their findings whether a charge can stand or not, thereafter FICAC will decide charge or not, then it will go to court, and the court will decide whether a person is guilty or not. Saneem also says we have completely ignored the fact that there was a receipt changed after the complaint regarding The People’s Alliance and Rock The Vote.

He says facebook posts and videos have been deleted.

Saneem also says the media has not seen their role in this, and went on to say that CFL News Director, Vijay Narayan has not published the questions he sent to Saneem from earlier this year.

Communications Fiji Limited, the parent company of fijivillage, FM96, Legend FM, Viti FM, Navtarang and Radio Sargam is independent. We have reported all issues fairly, gathered information, asked people for responses including the Fijian Elections Office, the Supervisor of Elections, Lynda Tabuya, Rock The Vote and The People’s Alliance.

Based on the information gathered and according to the Media Code of Ethics, the stories were published.

Saneem says it is common sense that voter registration at schools is meant for students only however Tabuya says the SOE should be clear and not give confusing information

Lynda Tabuya removes facebook post after Supervisor of Elections issues a notice saying it is incorrect and misleading | Any accusation against the party or me is simply untrue - Tabuya

It was premature for the Supervisor of Elections to have crucified a citizen - Tabuya | Tabuya is a qualified lawyer and should have a look at the Electoral Act - Saneem

Supervisor of Elections, Mohammed Saneem says People’s Alliance provisional candidate Dan Lobendahn should ask Lynda Tabuya about what the process will be when he gets his right of response with FICAC.

Saneem made the comment after we asked him to respond to People’s Alliance Deputy Leader, Manoa Kamikamica’s question on why Lobendahn still hasn’t received anything after he was referred to FICAC by the Fijian Elections Office about his alleged involvement with Rock the Vote Fiji.

Saneem says that FICAC will not convict him today, they will investigate this to see if there was a breach of the law.

Saneem then showed a video of a Rock the Vote event to the media with both Dan Lobendahn and Lynda Tabuya telling the audience that they should vote for Lynda and People’s Alliance Party.
