With nine weeks left for the Fiji Water Flying Fijians to play their first test match this year against the Barbarians on the 22nd of June, newly appointed Head Coach Mick Byrne has started to plan out their strategies for this year.
In his first press conference after being appointed, Byrne says he is fully committed now to the Flying Fijians, but he will be joining them on the field after the Super Rugby Pacific season.
He says he is working hard on setting up the processes and has also talked with some players, including captain Waisea Nayacalevu, and they are excited about what is in front of them.
Byrne also says he is going to do everything he can to make the Flying Fijians the people’s team.
Fiji will meet the Barbarians in Twickenham on the 22nd of June, and they then will face the All Blacks in San Diego on the 20th of July.
Byrne is also the coach for the Swire Shipping Fijian Drua, who will take on the Hurricanes at 7.05pm tomorrow at the HFC Bank Stadium.
