Ratu Penaia Kadavulevu, the son of the late Ratu George Cokanauto Tu’uakitau says he and his siblings are blessed to have a father, teacher and at the same time a friend that they have come across in life and taught them what life is supposed to be.
Ratu Penaia says the life of his late Ratu is a testament of love to him and the siblings
He says he always showed his care to the family and the Vanua as a whole.
He says his siblings learned how to be disciplined through his father’s attitude when he is at home.
He further says Ratu Tu’uakitau always respected his elder brother Ratu Epeli Nailatikau and at times when he would be walking on the side of the road and Ratu Epeli on the other side of the road, they would just acknowledge each other and continue their walk.
He adds that they were grateful for the time they had shared with their father.
Turaga na Roko Tui Bau, Ratu Timoci Tavanavanua says Ratu George spent most of his life growing up and living on the island of Bau in the chiefly family of Naisogolaca where he was taught iTaukei culture and tradition.
Tavanavanua says he was a very humble man who cared much for the Vanua and its people.
He says his life will be a testament to many people not only on the island of Bau but in the nation as well.
The late Ratu Tu’uakitau is closely related to the Tongan royal family.
The late Ratu Edward Cakobau’s sister was Queen Salote, their father was the late King of Tonga, George Tupou II, which made Ratu Tu’uakitau the uncle of the current King of Tonga.
The current King of Tonga has only one living uncle alive, who is Ratu Epeli Nailatikau.
