If you hit your wife, this is not the church for you.
These were the words of the Founder and General Superintendent of the New Methodist Christian Fellowship, Atunaisa Vulaono at their Conference today which was held at the ANZ Stadium.
Vulaono says the church believes in addressing what is happening in front of us and not what is not seen.
He says the church will assist the government of the day in such issues.
While speaking at the New Methodist Christian Fellowship Conference, the Minister for Women, Children and Poverty Alleviation, Mereseini Vuniwaqa praised the strong message from Vulaono.
Vuniwaqa says she has never seen any religious leader speak so passionately about condemning violence against women.
She says the issue of violence against women is hardly addressed in churches.
Vuniwaqa says this culture is instigated through the division within the church which is seen on Sundays where children, women and men have allocated seats.
The Minister says this culture should be broken.
