Fiji Rugby’s Head of Strength and Conditioning Naca Cawanibuka says if it were not for all the local 7s series, the Fiji 7s team would have been under prepared.
Cawanibuka says they were greatly blessed that they were able to get the local 7s series going last year, as the World 7s series was postponed due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Cawanibuka says in June last year, they as a coaching and management team met and planned because everything had to change and they needed to adapt.
He adds during the course of a 7s series, a player can play up to 60 games if they participated in all 10 tournaments.
Cawanibuka says the players had been able to participate in almost 11 local 7s tournaments and this included playing as a national team in 4 tournaments.
