The International Olympic Committee is considering a postponement of Tokyo 2020, and has given itself a deadline of four weeks to make a decision.
The International Olympic Committee’s executive board met yesterday amid mounting pressure from athletes and national Olympic committees for the Games to be delayed.
According to the International Olympic Committee, cancellation is "not on the agenda" but a 'scaled-down' Games will be considered.
However, postponement is thought to be the most likely outcome.
IOC President Thomas Bach says "different scenarios" for the Games are being considered for the first time.
