I just told the boys to believe in themselves.
Swire Shipping Fijian Drua coach Mick Byrne stated this when asked what he told the boys during the break when the scores were locked at 17-all with the Queensland Reds adding he told them to express themselves.
Byrne adds sometimes the boys hold back because they respect the opposition like everyone should or a little bit too much or they do not have the confidence to express themselves.
He says full credit to the boys as the internal expectation was to play finals and that second half showed what it meant to them.
Drua Captain, Meli Derenalagi adds they adapted to the weather and played their hearts out in front of their fans who came out in numbers despite the rain.
Derenalagi says the home fans always have their back as it is their team.
The Captain adds he and the boys are there to just wear the jersey for the love of their nation.
The Fijian Drua will now take on defending champions the Crusaders in the third quarter final at 7.05pm next Saturday in Christchurch.
