Alleged murderer Tevita Kunawave has told the Suva High Court that he threw a block at the shutters of his house however it landed outside.
While giving evidence Kunawave also sought forgiveness from his wife and parents.
The former soldier says that if he had assaulted his wife and caused her pain, he wanted to seek forgiveness from her in court.
He also told the court that he had asked the Police in Nabua to call a lawyer for him but says he was informed that no lawyer was coming and that no one was answering the call at his home.
Kunawave added that he was asked by the officers if he threw the block towards his wife however he told them that he threw it at the shutters.
He also alleged that he was sworn at on a Tuesday night by a woman who was working the night shift at the Nabua Police Station.
Kunawave is charged with a count of murder for allegedly killing his baby in October last year by throwing a concrete block through the window that hit the baby’s forehead.
The trial will continue before Judge, Justice Daniel Goundar today.
