I have a lot of goals to achieve and will keep striving for them.
These are the words of Fijian football star and Digicel Fiji national football team captain Roy Krishna in an interview with fijivillage News after joining Odisha FC, a renowned club in the Hero Indian Super League.
Krishna says his soccer journey started in his childhood days and he has come a long way through his father and wife's motivation – both mentally and physically.
He further says there have been a lot of challenges and ups and downs of going to different countries, languages and food but to become a professional successful player, motivated him to do the best and become an inspiration for the young footballers.
The 35-year-old says it was not always in his mind to become a professional footballer but a police officer, as growing up in the Indo-Fijian culture one is expected to have a good white collar job.
However, the football star says he is happy where he is now.
Krishna also encourages young players to give their best and stay disciplined at all times.
He says he also wishes to inspire and see more young professional players joining international teams in the future.
Meanwhile the 2023-2024 Hero Indian Super League season begins in October.
Krishna has played for ATK, ATK Mohun Bagan and Bengaluru FC in previous seasons.
