People’s Alliance Leader Sitiveni Rabuka says he believes he has done what a good leader would do in relation to dealing with the controversial post by provisional candidate Liliana Warid.
In a joint press conference with NFP today, Rabuka apologised to those who were offended or insulted by the post and said those are not the views of the People’s Alliance.
Rabuka further says they have told Warid that she must be more sensitive in her use of words.
While giving his remarks, NFP Leader Professor Biman Prasad says they in the NFP do not support Warid’s comments.
Prasad says NFP has been ridiculed and accused of keeping quiet when the issue first surfaced.
He says NFP acted swiftly and responsibly and both Rabuka and him met a day after Warid’s post and he raised the issue with Rabuka.
Prasad adds Warid certainly chose her words badly.
He further says every Fiji citizen, regardless of their ethnic background, has equal rights to every aspect of citizenship.
