The Hurricanes are hopeful of a ticket sellout in their first home match when they take on the Crusaders in Wellington this weekend.
Wellington's Sky Stadium boasts a capacity of 34,500 however, the Hurricanes have not played in front of a full house since the 2006 Super Rugby final where they lost to the Crusaders 20 points to 11.
Speaking to Stuff.co, Hurricanes CEO Avan Lee says he is hopeful of similar scenes for this weekend's match up against the reigning Super Rugby champions.
Lee says the Crusaders are obviously a class outfit and the Hurricanes fans love coming to a home game.
He says it should be a great occasion and, as they saw last weekend, people could not wait to get out and watch some sport.
Isaia Walker-Leawere is in the Hurricanes squad for this season while Sevu Reece and Manasa Mataele are in the Crusaders squad.
The Hurricanes will take on the Crusaders at 3.35pm Sunday while the other match this week is between the Blues and the Chiefs at 7.05pm Saturday.
