Hurricanes continue winning streak

The Hurricanes continue their winning streak in the 2024 Shop N Save Super Rugby Pacific after defeating the Melbourne Rebels 54-28 last night.

Salesi Raiyasi and Jordie Barrett scored two tries each while captain Brad Shields, who last played for the Hurricanes in 2018 before a stint in Europe, crossed over for his first try of the season after recovering from a foot injury.

TJ Perenara, Du'Plessis Kirifi and Harry Godfrey scored a try each for the Hurricanes.

The Hurricanes were leading 33-7 at halt time.

The Rebels rallied to open the scoring in the second half through centre Lukas Ripley, and the team came together when youngster Mason Gordon crossed in his Super debut.

Other tries for the Rebels came from Jordan Uelese, Lukas Ripley and Angelo Smith.

In another result, the Brumbies thumped Moana Pasifika 60-21.

Looking at the matches today, the Swire Shipping Fijian Drua will face the NSW Waratahs at 1.05pm, the Chiefs play the Highlanders at 3.35pm, the Blues will face the Crusaders at 6.05pm, and the Force will meet the Reds at 8.35pm.
