Making use of only about 30% possession to claim a win over the Highlanders meant more to Hurricanes fullback Jordie Barrett than his own 30-point haul in their 30-19 Super Rugby Aotearoa win at the weekend.
Barrett says the third-round loss to the Chiefs had been frustrating because they felt they put a lot into the game and a couple of mental lapses late in the game had undone all the good work.
He says they knew the Blues would be hurting after two losses but they were back at home and would be looking to cash in.
The Blues play the Hurricanes at 6.05pm Saturday while the Highlanders will take on the Crusaders at 6.05pm Friday.
