Hundreds trapped in vessel MV Spirit of Altruism at the Natovi jetty

Hundreds of people were trapped in the vessel MV Spirit of Altruism at the Natovi jetty yesterday for three hours due to mechanical problems.

People who were inside the ship contacted us and said that upon arriving at the Natovi jetty, the door of the vessel was not opening.

The vessel left Nabouwalu jetty yesterday morning and reached Natovi jetty at about 3.30pm yesterday afternoon.

The door of the vessel was opened at around 6.40pm last night after the boat engineers rectified the mechanical problem.

We have contacted Patterson Brothers Shipping Limited and they have yet respond.
