Hundreds of students left stranded on the roadside as buses did not arrive on time

Hundreds of students left stranded on the roadside as buses did not arrive on time

Hundreds of students living at Vesivesi Road and Tavola Road in Kinoya were left stranded on the roadside waiting for their school bus today as it did not arrive on time.

Parents of students say this route is serviced by Dee Cees Bus Services and there were no services yesterday and this morning. The school bus takes students of Veiuto Primary School, Draiba Primary School and Suva Grammar School.

Some parents had to pay for their children’s taxi fare while others had to wait for the 8 o’clock bus.

Meanwhile, General Manager Operations for Dee Cees Bus Services, Temo Chand says their bus services are all serving their respective areas.

Chand says all their services in the morning have been operating as scheduled but due to the traffic, they sometimes arrive late in the areas they are servicing.

He says one of the major issues that cause this delay is the work that is currently underway in Nabua.

Chand urges parents and students to work with them as they cannot control what happens on the road.
