Hundreds of passengers who are currently on board an Interlink Vessel that was headed to Labasa are stranded just a few meters ahead off the Natovi Jetty.

This is after the vessel that they are travelling in got stuck.

We have received confirmation from the passengers that they were told about a mechanical difficulty that the vessel was experiencing.

The passengers have also informed us that the reporting time for the vessel was 10pm however it berthed at the Natovi Jetty at midnight.

The vessel left shortly after that and has been stuck since 3am.

We have received confirmation from passengers on board that there are children on board who are hungry and they are still waiting for answers from the company.

Fijivillage is still trying to get a comment from the owners.

Questions have also been sent to The Maritime Safety Authority of Fiji and we are expecting a response from them soon.
