Hundreds gather as Siuta Niumataiwalu is laid to rest

Hundreds of family members, friends and colleagues today celebrated the legacy left behind by the late Police Constable Siuta Niumataiwalu who was killed on Tuesday morning trying to arrest a suspect in a case of theft in Lautoka.

The late Police Officer was laid to rest this afternoon. 

His older brother, Kolinio Niumataiwalu says they were blessed to have a brother who had a good heart and celebrated life. 

Speaking at the Homecoming Service,  Niumataiwalu says his brother has left behind a huge legacy for them to follow.

He talked about how his younger brother loved being a police officer. 

Niumataiwalu says his brother never gave up on his dream of being a police officer adding that the first time he applied he did not make it as he was told get a driving license.

He says his brother continued to work hard, got a driving license and joined the Fiji Police Force last year. 

The Commander of the RFMF, Rear Admiral Viliame Naupoto, and Acting Police Commissioner Rusiate Tudravu.
