Hundreds turned out in numbers to pay their respect to former Lami Mayor and well renowned public figure Jerry Tikaram this morning.
Tikaram who was the Chief Commissioner of the Fiji Scouts Association for many years and was later elevated to Deputy Chief Scout was one of those instrumental in the push to declare Lami a town.
Tikaram was also the second mayor of Lami Town Council and served for three terms and was also heavily involved in declaring Lami a town.
Fijivillage noted a full packed Lami Church as many stood outside and cars lined the main town as they bid farewell to Tikaram.
Jerry Tikaram will be laid to rest on Saturday at the Old Suva Cemetary.
He leaves behind his wife, six children and five grandchildren.
