There is a huge traffic jam along Kings Highway and drivers are saying it has taken them 40 minutes to move from Rups Nakasi to near Muanikoso.
We have received confirmation that there is a Police checkpoint on Laqere Bridge.
Police spokesperson, Ana Naisoro says they have set the checkpoint for about 1 to 2 hours as they have received information about certain crimes committed, and they want to catch these individuals.
This operation is also underway in some other parts of the country.
Police are asking members of the public for understanding as this operation is necessary.
