More than 200 rolls of aluminum foil containing dried leaves and more than 1,000 small branches believed to be marijuana were seized in Tacirua this afternoon.
Assistant Commissioner of Police Operations (ACP) Livai Driu says a raid was conducted at the 57-year-old suspect’s home in Tacirua this afternoon, where the illicit substances were seized.
He says the raid was conducted by Police officers from the Southern Division Serious and Organised Crime and Intelligence Department, the Fiji Detector Dog Unit and Police Dog Unit.
ACP Driu says the raid reflects the continued support shown by members of the community in working with the Force in the sharing of information.
He adds the seizure of the alleged illicit substances that were ready for sale and distribution is a positive sign of community-police collaboration towards supply reduction.
ACP Driu reiterates the organisation’s appreciation to all who continue to support policing efforts in the war on drugs.
The 57-year-old man is currently in custody.
