The major hotels and resorts around the country have decided to absorb the 2.5 percent increase in VAT until April this year and will not pass on the increase to visitors at this stage.
Fiji Hoteliers Association President Dixon Seeto confirmed this to Fijivillage.
Seeto added the increase in VAT will definitely not be felt by visitors to Fiji due to competitive pricing.
He also believed that food prices in hotels and resorts could soon start decreasing.
