The Hong Kong 7s be played from the 4th to the 6th of November 2022 and will serve as the opening event of the 2023 HSBC World Rugby 7s Series.
Due to the ongoing uncertainty surrounding the travel restrictions associated with the global COVID-19 pandemic, the tournament was postponed.
It was supposed to be part of the 2021/2022 World 7s Series that would have originally taken place from the 1st to the 3rd of April 2022.
World Rugby says Hong Kong will host the second event in the 2023 Series in its traditional April window, doubling the enjoyment of this iconic event for fans.
Fiji is the current defending champions winning their 5th consecutive title in 2019.
Meanwhile, the Fiji Airways Men’s 7s team are in Dubai preparing for the second tournament of the first leg of the 2021/2022 World 7s Series.
Fiji will take on France in their first pool match at 5.44pm tomorrow.
They will then play Spain at 9:40pm tomorrow and their last pool game against Argentina is at 1:24am Saturday.
The men's cup quarterfinals starts at 5:44pm on Saturday while the cup semifinals are at 10:24pm on Saturday.
The cup final will kick-off at 3:26am on Sunday.
