Hindus around the world are celebrating Maha Shivratri today, one of the most sacred and significant festivals in the Hindu calendar.
This auspicious occasion marks the divine union of Lord Shiva and Goddess Parvati, symbolising the triumph of light over darkness and ignorance.
The Shree Sanatan Dharm Purohit Brahman Maha Sabha of Fiji along with the Shree Sanatan Dharm Pratinidhi Sabha of Fiji are encouraging devotees to honor the festival by offering panchamrit (a sacred mixture of milk, curd, honey, ghee, and sugar) to the Shivling, reciting the Rudra Ashtadhyayi and presenting bilva leaves, which are especially dear to Lord Shiva.
Devotees are also urged to perform Aarti and engage in prayer, fasting and meditation.
They say let’s seek the divine blessings of Mahadev for peace, prosperity and spiritual upliftment.
Sanatan Dharm's National General Secretary, Krishneel Tiwari will share the Shiv Katha on Radio Sargam from 6 to 7 this evening.
